Simply freeze your fresh picked edible flowers, herbs or garden finds to add to beautiful cocktails, mocktails, or refreshing water. No matter if it’s to elevate a special event, party, or just to make you feel special, beautiful ice cubes add something special to drinks.
Freezing herbs is also an easy way to preserve your grown bounty for a later date. Herbs that freeze well include pansy (herb of the year in 2022), thyme, chives, calendula, chamomile, basil, oregano, lemon balm, mint, or tarragon.
Freezing herbs for cooking with later is fast, easy and retains much of the taste, smell and nutrients found in fresh herbs. Frozen herbs can be used in the same proportion as fresh herbs.
Once frozen, cubes can be transferred into a Ziploc bag or other airtight container for easy, single-serve access. Remember to wash your choice of flower or herb before freezing and enjoy in either a cool drink, or used later for cooking!
