The Herb Garden is a proud member of the Ontario Labyrinth Community.
Walking a labyrinth can be a powerful tool for reflection, prayer, meditation, comfort, stress reduction and healing. Having a labyrinth in the setting of an herb garden is a natural partnering since many herbs have healing attributes.
Our labyrinth’s path is arranged in such a way that the participant moves back and forth across the circular form through a series of curves. As you shift your direction you also shift your awareness from right brain to left brain. This is one of the reasons the labyrinth can induce receptive states of consciousness. There is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth.Labyrinths have been around for over 4000 years and are a rediscovered spiritual tool. Like Stonehenge and the pyramids, labyrinths are geometric forms that define a special space.
Experiencing the labyrinth can be very profound or just a pleasant walk. Each time is different and as individual as you are. Come see what the labyrinth has to offer you as you find your own centre.
Our labyrinth was created in an ancient spiral circle pattern, a sacred symbol that can be traced back over 4,000 years. The spiral and circle are the most basic forms found in nature. The circle expresses wholeness and unity and is considered a universal symbol of transformation. In its long history, the labyrinth has crossed cultures and religious traditions.
Our labyrinth is planted with herbs, perennial flowers and grasses. Not only can it provide a healing experience it is a wonderful backdrop for wedding pictures.
